Awakening in New York City

What do you do when you're in New York for two days?
The verdict is, you don't sleep.
This place is in a constant state of consciousness. It breathes, it lives and it makes you feel less mortal.

Being a part of the daily hustle in New York was somewhat like a dream come true experience. The madness here is the kind that can only be experienced in one more place that I call home, Mumbai. This city is beautiful in every nook and corner. I must say that I got lucky to stay in the heart of Manhattan, barely a 5 minute walk from the Empire State Building.

If you visit the 'Friends Apartment', you'll end up with a few more people like yourselves in that very place. This only means that the city is always open  wide arms to tourists.
The world famous touristy spots around the city are famous for their actual existence. It's a melting pot of classy and modern.

Apart from the ever buzzing lifestyle of this unique place, one of the most striking characteristics of New Yorkers is that no one has the leisure to give you a second look (or first for that matter). Yes, this city is full of people, but not once will you notice that the passerby mob is paying attention to your weirdness. You can be weird in a city full of weird (and that would be normal).
Everything here is moving at a pace which is not normal (or so you may feel).
But every time you look up in the sky and see the sun, you'll notice that there are very few places in the city where it touches the ground. That's when it hits you, it's a labyrinth. It's a big and fully functional film set.

However, this place is filled with positivity and it may well be the reason why it is a dream to live here. Not for once you feel devoid of inspiration or courage in this city. Everything seems to be coming together and it seems like all the dots are joined. I must admit that I felt the same way. This city gives you a memory that stays with you like a good ghazal. This place has left me with the kind of motivation that I was lacking for a very long time.
The only thing standing between you and your dreams is the journey to your dreams. And with this thought in my head, I left this glimmering land in the hope to visit it someday, again.

Oh and yes I ♡ NYC!
